The Structured Dog

Freedom through Structure
Why “The Structured Dog,” you ask?
The Oxford Dictionary defines “Structured” as: “to construct or arrange according to a plan; give a pattern or organization to.” Bringing this concept to our dogs ensures that we 1) have a plan and 2) guide (or train) them according to that plan. By adhering to this structure our dogs will gain freedom in their lives that they wouldn’t otherwise attain.

But, Amy. Your ways are so restrictive! How can those restrictions equal freedom for my dog?

Dogs thrive with structure and routine. They are creatures of habit. Give a dog too much freedom too soon and you will end up with a dog who must be restricted in the end.
Start a dog out with structure, rules and boundaries, learning what is expected of him, and you will build a dog that is Calm, Cool and Collected; a dog who has EARNED much freedom.
I have been a dog breeder for 18+ years. During this time, I have raised and trained many of my own dogs as well as dogs that belong to other people. My focus as a breeder is to produce the absolute best dog that I can, one that will keep up with you, but be the calm family companion we all want. We raise our puppies to be resilient and ready to learn so their families can start molding them to fit into their household right from the start. I have placed many, many puppies into new homes and coached those families from puppyhood on into adulthood.
But, sometimes, I think this is not enough. I think it is time that I help at the next level.
-
Many families struggle with knowing what is acceptable behavior from their dog and how to elicit that behavior.
-
Many families are new to dog ownership.
-
Many families get lost in all the differing theories of dog training.
-
Many families don’t have the time it takes to teach a concept to their dog and then perform the repetitions with Duration, Distance and Distractions to make it stick.
Our training program is designed to get your dog off to the right start. Whether your dog is a new member of your household or has been with you for some time, foundational training can be applied to help him gain the FREEDOM to LIVE his BEST LIFE. Let us introduce the structure, rules and boundaries, preparing your dog to be a polite member of the family. You can then pick up the mantle and carry on with the NEW story of your dog’s life.
